Gematria has played an important role in history. Multiple original Hebrew and Greek documents may also be fairly read as sets of numbers. This intriguing fact comes about because, long ago, the ancient people adopted the practice of using the letters of their alphabets, as numerals. Therefore, each letter was associated with a fixed value, and a sequence of letters with the sum of their respective values, was used to create a word/phrase.

The founder and spiritual leader of Chabad of Downtown Vancouver and co-Dean of the Jewish Academy, has an interesting explanation of Gematria: “Using geometry [i.e., calculation of shape and sizes] as a way to get the numeric equivalents of Hebrew letters, or “guy" and “mit Uria” - “valley coming out of a mountain” - representing the wealth of information by the coded words"…Mr. Bitton is using the Kabbalistic approach to language that relates it precisely to the discovery of ancient geometry and astronomy, implying descent of revealed wisdom and ascent of human wisdom.

Researcher Vernon Jenkins has done a remarkable job of Hebrew decoding of the Bible. For example, he analyzed the Hebrew phrase in Genesis 1:1, as he broke down in numerical values the entire phrase in Genesis 1:1 and showed that by factorizing specific sums of the numerical values of different words, we will get geometrically the 8th numerical hexagon/hexagram.

CHECK NUMBER MEANING

You’ll find entries(values) in the Hebrew Table from the Kabbalah Sephiroth to supplement your Gematria decoding and knowledge. It is important to understand that every number has a meaning in life behind it, and in order to produce a correct reading of the values, you would need a good source- Lexicon. Our entries include values taken primarily from a 19th century Hebrew Lexicon, devoted to study of the Torah and the balance of the Old Testament. The Hebrew Table contains many important words and names from the Torah, variant spellings and meaning of the entries.

When using the Hebrew Table, it shall be possible for a person with Gematria knowledge to use this source to decode news and events by access an exhaustive glossary of Hebrew entries and terms. We put many hours of hard, devoted work to assemble this Table, therefore, it will be only available to members of the site. Entries (Values) for numbers greater than 100 will increase considerably after this point.

What is Gematria?

Gematria (Greek: meaning “Geometry”) is a study, developed to calculate the values of individual words. Many detailed scientific reports claim that Gematria originated first as an Assyro-Babylonian-Greek system of code and numerology, adopted into the Jewish culture as well.

Gematria signifies the numeric equivalents of letters, words, and phrases, in order to find hidden meanings of them.
